Telepathology India is a non-profit organization to promote the use of the internet in the field of diagnostic pathology. Telepathology is basically "Second Opinion" on gross and microscopic images which have been amply proved in the world literature to be useful for those pathologists staying in remote areas, and who would like a second opinion by experts or pathologists with more experience, on their cases before signing out their reports.

Telepathology India is an attempt to facilitate Telepathology in India. This is been set up to look into the possibility of offering the facilities of this site to members for their own use. The members in our EXPERT PANEL are experts in their own right. This site is Free for all members. It is envisaged that the recurring cost of hosting the site will be borne by advertisers.

With our experience at Telepathology India since its inception in September 2001, we have come to realize that Static Telepathology as practiced by us in its present form for second opinion diagnosis is not very popular, both for the sender and the experts. For various reasons. On the other hand, Static Telepathology as a tool for "Distance Learning" has shown a lot of potential, and our experience at the National Telepathology quiz of 2001 and 2002, and the interest shown in the Telepathology page of pathoindia.com, has prompted us to utilize this site for distance learning.

Active participation from all members is solicited.
